Alexandra's Outreach Programs

Alex is an avid birder, photographer and volunteer for a number of organizations: Limberlost, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (Pokagon, Indiana Dunes and Salamonie), Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab, Indiana Audubon, Stockbridge Audubon and more. She is the Indiana Audubon Society's first Young Birder of the Year and author of their "Bird of the Month" articles.
In addition to developing programs and giving presentations across the Midwest, she maintains two websites: MidwestBirdWatching.com and Young Conservationists.org. Check out her reviews of birding apps on YouTube and her interview on CBS Sunday morning and learn more about Alex at http://www.alexandraforsythe.com/
Alex was the recipient of the Charles D. Wise Youth Conservation Award in 2013. With the Charles D. Wise award came a monetary prize to be used for a conservation program. Alex chose to use the funds to develop an outreach program with Limberlost. With the help and support of Terri Gorney, Randy Lehman, Curt Burnette and Bill Hubbard of Limberlost, the programs continue to expand, reaching audiences of all ages from school children to seniors.
Each program can be tailored to fit your needs. We offer presentations, hands-on activities, take-home projects and more. If you need a program on a particular topic not listed on this website, contact us and we will attempt to accommodate you.
Limberlost is the natural sponsor of these programs. Gene Stratton-Porter's love of nature is renowned, and her legacy lives on through the hard work and dedication of the Friends of the Limberlost.
Schedule a program for your group or organization today and be sure to combine it with a tour of the Limberlost State Historic Site!
